To be honest i did not attend any school cause there is no school teaching retouching in particular. As far as i know the closest thing to becoming a retoucher would be to go to an agency and start working for them to learn it from the beginning. Other than that you could also attend photoshop courses from beginniner level etc. I started by retouching my own images through youtube tutorials but it looked really unprofessional. Than i had a girl which i would shoot with a lot and retouch her images (At that time i was learning retouching from Calvin Hollywoods DVDs). He had some nice starting tipps but if you want to retouch really professionally i'd suggest Gry Garness/Natalia Taffarel/Krunoslav Stifters DVDs which are very very professional and teach you basically everything you need to know. Other than that you can read a lot through the Modelmayhem.com digitigal retouching forums or on retouchpro.com forums to learn new stuff. But that isnt enough...you need to practice a LOT!
You can get very good quality images in the modelmayhem forum and you could also contact Natalia Taffarel and Krunoslav on MM too. They basically help with all the questions they are great people even though Krunoslav will most likely quit retouching now.
